For This Season

“Whatever season God has given you right now, be all in!” My words are coming back to haunt me. It’s easy to feel unsettled and discontent when things aren’t going as planned. Dreams delayed; life interrupts. How do I recognize the duty and mission for my life when things take an abrupt turn?jamie-street-dQLgop4tnsc-unsplash

I know God uses seasons of waiting to reflect an image of the bride of Christ waiting on His return and God’s kingdom reigns. I know He teaches me patience in these seasons and make me more like Him. But what about the seasons of busy and doing?

God has given me passions, desires, gifts, talents, visions and opportunities; all to specifically glorify Him. Opportunities always outnumber hours in a day, but not all “good and righteous” opportunities are mine for this season.

So I am preaching to myself today, when circumstances in my season come with disappointment. When my life is being stretched and I’m feeling spread thin. “Whatever season God has me right now, how am I ‘all in’ for His plan?” Maybe it’s not too little butter, but too much bread for today’s allotment of butter.
